H.H. Jigme Phuntsok Rinpoche: Teaching on the Nature of Mind

In a letter below, Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoche introduces this teaching by His Holiness Khenchen Jigme Phuntsok Rinpoche on the nature of mind. Please share widely.

Dear Dharma Brothers and Sisters of This World,

After lengthy and deep consideration, I have decided to release this audio recording by a most revered Tibetan Buddhist teacher, His Holiness Khenchung Jigme Phuntsok Rinpoche. This teaching was given auspiciously during the Vajrayana section of our very first Nyingma Summer Seminar, in 1993. Included among general dharma teachings are an introduction to the Dzogchen lineage of the Early Translation School, as well as instructions on the nature of mind from the union of Mahamudra and Maha Ati. This teaching contains immense power and blessings to help us all clarify our own path and practice and connects us to a genuine embodiment of Guru Padmasambhava.

Jigme Phuntsok Rinpoche came into this world for the sole purpose of benefiting others by propagating the dharma and liberating beings. He founded Larung Gar in Eastern Tibet, one of today’s greatest dharma institutions, as evidenced by the sheer number of beings studying and practicing there, and especially by the quality of its education system and the integrity of the practice guidance provided.

Therefore, instead of preserving this teaching only in our library’s archives, my hope is that releasing it to the public will enable it to reach and benefit thousands, or even millions of beings. I pray that everyone will be able to make a connection to His Holiness Jigme Phuntsok Rinpoche, and to find great inspiration and benefit from hearing his voice and instructions. To all who listen, I make a fervent request that you engender great openness and devotion, and turn his instructions into a liberation of your own mind through the grace and power that these teachings contain.

Sincerely Yours,

Dzigar Kongtrul Rinpoche.
