Yishin Norbu Memorial Pilgrimage 2024 — A Blessed Journey

The 2024 Yishin Norbu Memorial Pilgrimage has been completed with great auspiciousness. Led by the Venerable Chakung Lama Tsewang Rinpoche, this 20-day journey followed the sacred footsteps of H.H. Jigme Phuntsok across the holy Buddhist sites of Nepal and India.

Throughout the pilgrimage, experienced Khenpos provided invaluable teachings and guidance. Participants deepened their spiritual connections, received profound blessings, and gained insights into the Buddha's teachings.

May the seeds of compassion and wisdom planted on this journey continue to flourish within every participant and benefit all sentient beings.

Asura Cave, Nepal

  • •The Asura Cave is a significant historical and religious site located in the Pharping area.
  • •The Asura Cave is believed to be one of the sacred places where Guru Padmasambhava meditated during the 8th century.
  • •H.H Jigme Phuntsok revealed the intellectual terma of the 'Neck Pouch Dorje Phurba Practice' in this cave.
  • •We will have the great fortune to practice the 'Neck Pouch Dorje Phurba Practice' in the sacred site of Asura Cave.

2nd destination

Lumbini, Nepal

  • •Head to Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha, located in Nepal.
  • •Visit the sacred Maya Devi Temple, where Buddha was born.
  • •Explore the peaceful Lumbini Garden, home to various monasteries and ancient ruins.

3rd destination

Kashinager, India

  • •Travel to Kushinagar, the place where Buddha attained Parinirvana (passed away).
  • •Visit the Mahaparinirvana Temple and the reclining Nirvana statue of Buddha.
  • •Explore the Ramabhar Stupa, where Buddha's cremation took place.

4th destination

Sarnath, India

  • •Journey to Sarnath, where Buddha delivered his first teaching.
  • •Visit the Dhamek Stupa, a massive structure marking the spot of Buddha's teachings.
  • •Explore the ruins of ancient monasteries and visit the Sarnath Museum to see Buddhist artifacts.
  • •Visit to Sarnath International Nyigma Institute

Successfully Completed: Yishin Norbu Memorial Pilgrimage 2024 — Nepal & India. The special pilgrimage was led by the Venerable Chakung Khenpo Tsewang Rinpoche. Over these 20 days, we embarked on a sacred journey following the footsteps of H.H. Jigme Phuntsok, visiting holy sites across Nepal and India.
