It was an exceptionally auspicious circumstance that, just before I bestowed the Dudjom Troma empowerment, I received a ritual bell that had once belonged to Chakhung Tulku Dorje Dradül. In a remarkable convergence of karma, one of my students brought this bell from Tibet when coming to receive the empowerment from me and, with deep devotion, offered it into my hands. I accepted it as a profound blessing object, deeply moved by the karmic connection and the significance of this moment.
About Tulku Dorje Dradül
Tulku Dorje Dradül (c. 1891–1959) was an eminent master of the Tibetan Nyingma tradition, the son of the great treasure revealer Chakhung Dudjom Lingpa, and a principal lineage holder of the Dudjom Tersar tradition. He succeeded his father in carrying forward his spiritual activities and in upholding the integrity of the Dudjom Tersar lineage. He is also known as Tulku Dordra.
During a period of great upheaval in Tibet, Tulku Dorje Dradül played a crucial role in preserving and transmitting the Dudjom Tersar lineage. As the principal successor to his father's activities, he ensured the continuity of Dudjom Lingpa's vast spiritual legacy until his passing in 1959.
In this way, Tulku Dorje Dradül stands as a vital link in the unbroken transmission of the Dudjom Tersar. The arrival of this bell at such a pivotal moment was therefore not merely coincidental, but a clear expression of karmic connection and lineage blessing.
